This month, we are talking all about Ducks. Duck ducks, sheep ducks, basket ducks, hot dog ducks, dino ducks… If these sound like a contradiction in terms, please listen as Rae & Andi wax poetic about the wonderful quirky world of architectural ducks. 🦆
In this episode, we talk a great deal about Learning from Las Vegas by Robert Venturi, Denise Scott Brown & Steven Izenour. You can learn more about the book here and you can purchase it here.
BONUS! Once you listen to the episode, check out Rae’s grandpa with his record-setting catch as displayed at the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. It’s here (and EPIC!)

Great episode! Lots of fun things to ponder.
As I was listening, I thought of Lucy the Elephant in NJ. Memetic for sure, but not really a duck. Not really a decorated shed, either. How would you classify her?
Andi says: decorated duck
Rae says: sculpture
Both say: awesome
I loved learning about duck architecture in class because it made me realize I lived near one, literally. The Big Duck on Long Island is a staple in tourism! Let me know if you want photos.
Yes! I believe Rae and Andi both got a lovely sticker of the Big Duck from you. Happy for more pics, too. Hope things are going well for you on LI!
